Plaza Alvear (which many natives confuse with the nearby Plaza Francia) is filled with stand on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for the city's most traditional and popular Feria Artesanal (Crafts Fair) that covers the space up to calle Junin. Here, products of varied textures and materials are on display: jewelry, leather, knitwear, candles, herbal teas, antiques, art and design objects (specially those with motifs relating to tango, polo and typical Buenos Aires images and caricatures), in addition to other products. Some of the Plaza's classic personalities include the living statues, clowns, jugglers and the tango dancers, singers or jazz musicians.
